The Shape

A punishing but melodically charged heavy metal troupe based out of New Haven, Connecticut, the Shape were founded in 2006 by vocalist/guitarist Brian Almeida and guitarist Chris Carlino -- the band would eventually solidify into a quartet around Almeida, Tom Voytek, Dan Amore, and Pete Smith. In 2017, after releasing three independent LPs that showcased their lethal blend of groove-laden alt-metal and nu metal-tinged thrash, the Shape inked a deal with DME/Monolithic Recordings and released their most high-profile outing to date, World Away. ~ James Christopher Monger
