The Ladybirds

About The Ladybirds

LadybiRdS actually started life back in 2005 when Tyler Pursel and Teeter Sperber were touring and recording with short-lived indie/fun group Ley Royal Scam. After a successful tour supporting Taking Back Sunday the group disbanded, leaving keyboardist/guitarist Pursel free to join up with emo purveyors Gym Class Heroes while Sperber relocated to Oregon for some introspection and recharging. Not long after, Pursel fancied starting a lighter, more danceable musical project. He enlisted his old bandmate Sperber for the vocal duties and LadybiRdS were born. The two holed up in the basement of Creep Records' Pennsylvania headquarters and came out a few months later with a finished debut album -- 2007's Regional Community Theatre. Though the album was largely buoyed by the efforts of the duo itself, a few cameos from musician friends (Say Anything's Max Bemis, the Get Up Kids' Matt Pryor, the Danger O's' Justin Johnson, and Fairmont's Neil Sabatino) added to the studio fun. ~ J.
