Dominican singer Raulin Rodriguez began his career at age 15 as guitarist for the legendary Anthony Santos, and he has since become one of his country’s most influential bachateros. ∙ The romantic title track of 1994’s Medicina de Amor, one of his earliest hits, made Latina’s list of the 20 Best Bachata Songs Ever. ∙ Derroche de Amor, which peaked in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Tropical Albums chart, was nominated for Tropical Album of the Year at the 2003 Billboard Latin Music Awards. ∙ Thanks to “Esta Noche,” a Dominican chart-topper and crossover hit in the US, he won Bachatero of the Year and Bachata of the Year at 2014’s Premios Soberano awards. ∙ He appears on two of Romeo Santos’ biggest hits—“Debate de 4,” from his chart-topping 2011 debut, Fórmula, Vol. 1, and “La Demanda,” from 2019’s quintuple-Platinum Utopía.
