Luke Reed

About Luke Reed

A singer/songwriter grounded in alt-rock traditions that stretch back through Pavement to the Velvet Underground, Luke Reed released his debut album, Won't Be There, in the summer of 2017. Reed favored the dreamier side of Ameri-indie guitar rock, something evident on Won't Be There along with his collaborations with Tea Leigh. Based in Somerville, Massachusetts, Reed first started recording with Leigh in the early years of the 2010s. These recordings first surfaced on MP3 blogs in 2012, but after releasing a series of singles, the pair decided to part ways. Reed joined Bent Shapes, and after his stint in that band he played with Mini Dresses. He launched a solo career in 2017 with the release of Won't Be There. Later that year, Reed and Leigh re-teamed for the Singles EP and a single titled "Underwater." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
