About Lockjaw

Best known to rock historians as the band that delivered bassist Simon Gallup to the Cure, Lockjaw debuted in late 1977 with the single "Radio Call Sign" on the Raw label -- much to their own horror. Gallup has since confessed that he breaks any copy of the record he finds rather than allow it to fall into unsuspecting hands. Initially lining up as Gallup (bass) and his brother Ric Gallup -- aka Bo Zo -- (vocals), Micky Morbid (guitar), and drummer Oddy Ordish, Lockjaw underwent a personnel change following the release of the single, as Morbid was replaced by the twin guitar attack of Stu Pendous and Steve Mushroom. In this form, the band cut a new single, "Journalist Jive," again for Raw, before breaking up. ~ Dave Thompson
