Larry Carlton

About Larry Carlton

Best known in rock circles for his work with Steely Dan and Joni Mitchell, jazz guitarist Larry Carlton began his solo career with 1968's WITH A LITTLE HELP and is a renowned composer and performer, winning several Grammies. In addition to his solo work, Carlton has been a member of the successful jazz bands the Crusaders and Fourplay. Carlton is married to Christian rock singer Michele Pillar and is the uncle of pop singer/songwriter Vanessa Carlton. He survived a well-publicized near-tragedy in 1986, when he was shot in the throat, apparently randomly, by unknown assailants near his Los Angeles home.
