About Voodoo Circle

Alex Beyrodt's Voodoo Circle is a German power metal band founded by Silent Force/Primal Fear guitarist Alex Beyrodt. They swaggered onto the global rock scene with a self-titled 2008 album whose sound was unapologetically rooted in the vintage 1970s and early-'80s bluesy heavy metal of Rainbow, Whitesnake, and Deep Purple. Voodoo Circle's incessant touring ethic, combined with the support of German radio and music journalists, won them prime live slots across the continent and resulted in 2011's Broken Heart Syndrome reaching the German Top Ten. Founding vocalist David Readman left after the tour for 2015's charting Whisky Fingers, as did drummer Markus Kullmann, shifting the dynamic and textural elements in their sound. Voodoo Circle enlisted Avantasia's Herbie Langhans to front the band for 2018's charting Raised on Rock. Readman and Kullmann returned in 2020, and appeared on the following year's Locked & Loaded.
