About Honey Dijon

When Honey Dijon steps behind the decks, class is in session. The legendary DJ and producer is the undisputed mistress of the groove, commanding crowds around the world with euphoric mixes of disco, house, and techno. Born in Chicago in 1968, Dijon was tapped into music from a young age, soaking up her parents' R&B and soul collection and frequently curating tunes at their weekend parties. She began nightclubbing as a teen, flourishing in the house-music boom that became a sanctuary for queer people of color throughout the ‘80s. Dijon is Black and transgender, and the unbridled joy she experienced at these parties became her guiding principle upon launching her DJ career in the late ‘90s. She began remixing and producing original music by 2000, eventually reworking hits by the likes of Beyoncé, Nomi Ruiz, Lady Gaga, and Christine and the Queens. Her 2017 debut LP, The Best Of Both Worlds, synthesized Dijon's hedonistic house visions, while 2022’s eclectic and empowering Black Girl Magic let loose with throbbing techno and electro combos. Honey Dijon has also become a favorite collaborator of renowned fashion designers such as Nicolas Ghesquière, Kim Jones, and Rick Owens, and has created thumping original mixes for top brands like Dior and Louis Vuitton.
