About Héctor El Father

Reggaeton rapper/singer Hector El Father first rose to fame as half of the pioneering Puerto Rican duo Hector & Tito, known for their string of hits in the late ’90s and early 2000s. ∙ He made his solo debut—performing as Hector “El Bambino”—with the 2004 mixtape Los Anormales, which featured Daddy Yankee, Alexis & Fido, and Don Omar. ∙ Hector signed with Jay-Z’s short-lived Roc-La-Familia imprint in 2015 and was the Latin face of the famed rapper’s clothing line. ∙ In 2006, his first official solo LP, The Bad Boy, sold 20,000 copies during its debut week and became a No. 2 hit on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. ∙ Devoting his life to Christianity, he announced his retirement from music in 2008 and released a farewell album, Juicio Final. ∙ A sampled clip of Hector’s voice appeared on Baauer’s “Harlem Shake,” a viral dance smash in 2013. ∙ After nearly a decade away from music, he produced a 2018 film about his life, Conocerás La Verdad, and he led off the soundtrack with a new single, “Acuérdate de Mí.”
