About Hailey Tuck

Jazz singer Hailey Tuck began life in Austin, Texas before decamping to Europe and embarking on a musical career in the mid-2010s. Musically inspired by contemporary jazz singers Madeleine Peyroux and Melody Gardot, Tuck dropped out of Baptist military school at 18 and moved to Paris, and in 2014 briefly swapped the French capitol for London before returning to Texas. That same year she self-released her self-titled debut EP. The next two years saw her put out two more EPs, So in Love and Delancy Street, before she began work on her debut long-player. Tuck teamed up with producer Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock) to record the 12-track Junk. The record featured covers of a number of diverse artists like Pulp and Leonard Cohen, as well as tracks from Cabaret and Leonard Bernstein. ~ Bekki Bemrose
