About Fleur

Fronted by singer Floor Elman, Fleur combines yé-yé, garage rock, and spacy flights of fancy into an authentic yet creative '60s pastiche. The group began when Arjan Spies and Dave Von Raven of the Kik -- a Dutch band known for their homages to '60s beat music in their native tongue -- were writing music for their instrumental project Les Robots. Realizing these songs needed a female singer to come alive, they recruited Elman as their vocalist. Fleur's debut single, "Mon Ami Martien," arrived on the Spanish label Bickerton in September 2019, earning praise for its allusions to the work of Joe Meek as well as more expected yé-yé and garage rock influences. The single, along with May 2020's "Petite Homme de Papier," appeared on that September's full-length Fleur.
