Edwin Luna y La Trakalosa de Monterrey is an 18-piece band from Mexico that incorporates a diverse mix of traditional and modern Mexican influences in their music. ∙ Formed by veteran musician Edwin Luna, the group’s 2011 debut single, “Después de Ti No Hay Nada,” peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Regional Mexican Airplay chart. ∙ In 2012, they collaborated with Latin dance artist El Pelon Del Mikrophone and regional Mexican band Grupo Violento for the dancefloor hit “La Cumbia Tribalera.” ∙ “San Lunes,” a traditional soundtrack, topped the radio charts in northern Mexico and climbed to No. 16 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. ∙ They scored a smash in 2014 with “Borracho de Amor,” a No. 3 hit on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart and a No. 12 entry on the Hot Latin Songs chart. ∙ With 2020’s “Dormida,” they topped Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart for the first time. ∙ The band celebrated their 10th anniversary with 2020’s “Mi Hubieras Avisado,” which became their second straight No. 1 single on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart.
