About Dylan Dylan

Dynamite Dylan cultivated a cult fan base as a YouTube personality, and translated that into a musical career in 2017 when he released the single "No Competition," which was quickly followed in 2018 by the Post Malone collaboration "You." A native of Los Angeles, Dylan Dyamond is the son of Ryan Friedlinghaus, the founder of West Coast Customs, the firm responsible for the iconic MTV series Pimp My Ride. Adopting the name Dynamite Dylan, he first gained recognition in 2013 by reviewing toys and video games on his YouTube channel. He was infatuated with music long before his Internet fame, spending his childhood writing Minecraft-oriented parodies of pop hits and taking voice lessons from Evelyn Halus, who previously worked with Jennifer Lopez. His family friend will.i.am encouraged him to pursue music, so he released "Video Games" (not a Lana Del Rey cover) in 2017, when he was just 12 years old. "No Competition," which also featured fellow YouTuber Jake Paul, appeared in late 2017. Early in 2018 he released "You," which featured a guest spot by Post Malone. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
