About Candlebox

Seattle-based grunge band Candlebox was the first rock artist signed to Madonna’s Maverick Records label. ∙ Candlebox frontman Kevin Martin sang in choirs from age six through high school, but he planned on being a drummer, not a singer. ∙ Released in 1993, Candlebox’s self-titled debut album produced four hits and went quadruple-Platinum. ∙ Their biggest hit, 1994’s “Far Behind,” was written by Martin in memory of his idol, Mother Love Bone frontman Andy Wood. ∙ “Glowing Soul” appeared on The Waterboy soundtrack at the request of the movie’s star, Adam Sandler. ∙ Martin fronted The Gracious Few, a side-project featuring the three instrumentalists from ’90s alt-rock band LIVE.
