In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My mom loves to tell a story about me being around 5 years old singing "Silent Night" at the top of my lungs, tears streaming down my face, during a candlelight Christmas Eve service at church. I've always been moved by music and songs. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Prine, John Prine Leonard Cohen, Songs of Leonard Cohen Townes Van Zandt, Townes Van Zandt Leonard's songwriting is otherworldly right out the gates. The best studio album Townes ever made for my ears. Greatest of the greatest. Prine's songs find the humanity in you, and love the hell out of it. Makes me laugh and cry and try even harder. Tell us why you chose this song. “Shadows of the Moonlight (Live)” I wrote this song about my great-grandfather, Sam, a cowboy turned lineman, who met a tragic end at 38 on Halloween 1935. Despite warnings, he died in an electrical accident in Covington, Texas. His wife's ominous dream haunted their final moments.
