About A Homeboy, A Hippie & A Funki Dredd

This UK dance music team made their name with the club hit ‘Total Confusion’, for Tam Tam in 1989. The single also crossed over into the main pop charts, reaching number 56 the following October, and led to a contract with Polydor Records. Original member Casper Pound soon departed, to find wider fame as the Hypnotist, head of Rising High Records, and various other projects. HHFD member Marc Williams continued to work with Pound’s new label under the title Project One. It was with their November 1993 single, ‘Here We Go’, that the group became firmly etched into the record-buying public’s minds. This came through the unprecedented coverage of a television advert for British Knights sportswear, using the single as its theme tune. On MTV alone it was shown 277 times in the two months following release, and broke into the UK Top 60 the following January, but it was to be their final effort.
