A solo project started by Nina Persson of the Cardigans, A Camp provides a moodier and more eclectic outlet for the Swedish singer’s warm, distinctive vocals. With intriguingly dynamic production by Sparklehorse’s Mark Linkous, A Camp’s country/folk-leaning self-titled 2001 album also featured input from Niclas Frisk (Atomic Swing) and Persson’s husband, Nathan Larson (Shudder to Think). Eight years later, Persson, Larson, and Frisk reconvened as A Camp and unveiled COLONIA, proving that it was more than just a one-album ensemble.
