- Released under the long shadow of the tremendous success of Mecano's debut the year before, Olé Olé’s first work is an undisguised attempt to repeat the move on the part of the CBS label. It even resorted to the same producer (Jorge Álvarez) and a composition loaned by Nacho Cano himself to boost Vicky Larraz and his bandmates. That song, “No Controles”, is a tune about youthful rebelliousness that stands above the rest of the tracks. No matter how hard they tried, neither Gustavo Montesano nor Luis Carlos Esteban came close to the compositional level of Mecano’s keyboardist, who was a machine when it came to making instant hits. Even so, Olé Olé stood out among most of their generation’s peers, thanks to the voice and charisma of Vicky Larraz, who was replaced three years later by the even more explosive Marta Sánchez.

About 091
The Spanish rock band 091 was formed after a group called Al-Dar, led by García Lapido, disbanded in the early '80s. The band's debut album, called El Cementerio de Automoviles, was released in 1984, followed by Mas de Cien Lobos in 1986. 091 was recognized as one of the major numbers from Granada's rock scene. On May 17 and 18, 1996, while performing in Macarena, 091 recorded a live album, the last one they issued. That same year writers Juan Enrique Gómez and Juan Jesús García published a book related to the group and its legacy. ~ Drago Bonacich
