Format support promising but...
I needed Snappy and LZO compression support. Keka my go to compression tools just didn’t support the formats so I thought I’d give Snowflower Arc a try.
Pros:
- It does support LZO and it is fast
Cons:
- Drag and drop interface usually requires dragging twice to get a folder to be accepted
- Have to select compression format from drop down on every use, should at least keep last used setting as default
- No Snappy support as advertised
- Have to navigate to destination folder on every use. Should at least start in the same folder as the source material or the last used destination folder by default
- $25 is a steep price given the poor user experience. It won’t be replacing Keka that I paid $20 for, except when LZO is absolutely needed
