Editors’ Choice

Let’s be honest: It’s not always easy to get excited about a calculator. But PCalc is well more than the sum of its parts; this beautifully designed utility is filled with high-powered features and functions that will appeal to everyone from engineers to programmers to students going to, well, pre-calc. If you’re a fan of scientific notation, trigonometry, and/or unit conversion, add this to your dock.

The only calculator app you need

I've been using this app for far longer than I can remember, but unlike my memory, PCalc just keeps getting better and better. Whenever there is a major mac or iOS (I also own PCalc on mobile) operating system version, PCalc is consistently one of the few apps that are ready and updated on day 1. The app itself has been incredibly stable. There are more tools in the app than I know what to do with. And now with version 4.9, there are even more customizations available. This app offers so much value for the price paid; and all of the above can be said about the mobile version of the app.

PCalc 4.5.3 on 10.8 bug

This is really a great app, but I'm using 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, yes I know it's an old os, and there's a bug I noticed.
About a third of the time opening the app, the number screen comes up blank. Not with a zero or anything else, just blank.
After a few more times of closing then opening, it works fine again, finally showing numbers. Is this just a Mountain Lion bug,
or is anyone else having this problem? Oh well, it actually works sometime, just wondered if anyone else has experienced this too.
I'm using version 4.5.3.
