Daily Budget Original Pro 4+

The Daily Budget app is truly a genius approach to budgeting. Kudos to the developers, who continue to respond to their clients and provide updates. Other budgeting approaches I have tried soon became tedious and, despite my best intentions, I would find myself avoiding the dreaded “Budget”. This one is different. It is simple, user-friendly and flexible.

I think the key to my success with it has been: 1) getting into the habit of recording my expenses daily; 2) creating “Big Expenses” for grocery shopping, etc., that are outside of my regular bills; and 3) making sure to record credit card expenses in the budget as they occur.

Within the app, there is access to a forum on Reddit. It is really helpful to see how others are using their budget. I did purchase the upgraded version of the app which has more customizable features, which I have enjoyed. Overall a great app and useful money management tool!

A lot of apps prompt me to make reviews if I like them but I never do it because it’s a hassle. This is my first ever App Store review and I’m doing it because I’ve used this app religiously for 3 years, it’s the only budgeting solution I’ve ever found that works for me, the creators of the app listen to feedback and implement it, customer service is great—the one time I had problems I got quick responses, good help, and was given an upgrade to the pro version for free for the hassle. As far as I understand it’s kind of a one man (or at least small) production behind this app, but whoever’s running the show is doing a great job. Can take a bit of figuring out to get the app to work for you the way you want it to based on your specific circumstances, but experiment, hop on the subreddit and ask questions, or reach out otherwise to the creators and you’ll figure it out. Best app I own.

We’ve tried so many different money tracking apps & methods over the years (ynab, mint, mvelopes, pen & paper budgeting, cash only with physical envelopes etc)...none have worked as well for us as this one. Love the simplicity of it!

There is something about having a bottom line number of how much we can spend (and a commitment to not spend more than that amount)...this app is making us think about our money in a totally different way. This app is not for someone who wants to micromanage their money (in theory you could with the app if you set it up that way though), but is definitely for you if you want an easy way to know how much you do or don’t have to spend.

My husband & I have found a happy medium with this app (he’s the spreadsheet guy, I’m the one who struggles to track much of anything), he tracks our big bills with a written list, this tracks all else.
