I want more

Great game. Downloaded a few years ago and I’ll admit after awhile I will get bored but it’s the type of game I can come back to months or years later and find just as much fun playing as I originally did. I’d like to see a new deck or additional cards added to the current decks. People are still playing I don’t have trouble finding a match. “Draft” is a great tournament type mode where you earn rewards based on how many wins you get with cards drafted from all the factions. It can seem pay to win for a newbie but if you keep playing and buy card packs with your in game currency you can progress your card collection rather quickly. What I like most about this game is that it’s not as extensive as a game like magic the gathering but it has that feel of a chess like card game that requires strategy and careful thought. It’s been awhile update the game!

Close to Perfect

Why? Because for what it aims to be it accomplishes. It’s a fairly balanced and smooth load times (quick at finding matches) yet most matches can be immersive the better you get. The developers take risks going towards this goal. As a longtime player I saw the major updates which drastically changed the game. And honestly the change cost them players but I respected the fearlessness. The change grew on me and I appreciated the focus on its strengths. I think they could update more often and that’s why I held back a star. What they do well they should expound on. The experience during the game can be made better without a major update or a new faction. They could add more character taunts, randomize the character taunts to automatically do it sometimes so it encourages users to toy with it (i find it can help with ones strategy by making you seem more aggressive), the sounds or effects can be added. I’m not asking to slow down the game with to much. But the “sorry” button should be added back for moments when you forget to click the end turn button. These things encourage more communication between players and just add to the experience. But all in all great game. I’m not that good but I enjoy tweaking and watching my deck build.

If you like MTG you will like this game.

This game reminds me very much of magic the gathering. Accept instead of your health, you are defending a castle. And you replace the tabletop with a grid. The gameplay is addictive, the skills well balanced, and the quests have good rewards. I have been playing for years and am still finding new card combinations and combos. The new sets broaden the gameplay even more and I like that developers don’t rush releasing new sets between updates.

My only complaint would be you only have six dialogue options to speak to your opponent. It’s quirky and funny but not very practical. And most of them are very broad and hard to convey what you are trying to say to to opposing player. It would be nice to have more options in talking to other players. Also maybe a clan or guild to join so that hard to get cards can be traded for, since it takes so long to build up enough shards to actually craft specific cards that you need for decks.

Despite the few complaints and suggestions I have, I still highly recommend this game. It’s fun and entertaining, but definitely not something you can split you attention on with anything else.
