Your Grace Finds Me (Live)

Your Grace Finds Me (Live)

Recorded live at Atlanta’s LIFT worship-leader conference, Your Grace Finds Me is a worthy follow-up to Matt Redman’s much-honored album 10,000 Reasons. The faith-inspired lyrics and well-contoured melodies that are the Christian singer/songwriter’s trademarks are very much in evidence on this set of all-original tunes. Cowriting with such CCM notables as Jason Ingram, Chris Tomlin, and Kristian Stanfill, Redman touches on a range of spiritual experiences while always bringing the focus back to God’s majesty and redemptive power. “Sing and Shout” (a Celtic-tinged hosanna driven by a hand-clapping beat), “This Beating Heart” (a galloping folk-pop number powered by the banjo of ex–Doobie Brother Willie Weeks), and “Let My People Go” (rocking righteously as it delivers a message of liberation) stand out among the upbeat tracks. Redman’s aching way with a praise ballad infuses “I Need You Now,” “Good Forever," and “Benediction” with heaven-centered yearning. If there’s a centerpiece to the album, it’s “Mercy,” a stately, emotionally resonant worship number that ranks among Redman’s best work.
