Inseparable - EP

Fusing dynamic electro-pop with fervent spiritual content, the Nashville-based quartet Veridia make their debut with a five-song EP that affirms positive Christian values to a relentless dance floor beat. Vocalist Deena Jakoub, drummer Kyle Levy, and guitarists Brandon Brown and Trevor Hinesley create music that recalls bands like Fireflight, Flyleaf, and Icon for Hire in its mix of aggression and uplift. Inseparable’s sound is sleek and throbbing, drizzled with day-glo synth effects and bursts of industrial clatter. “Disconnected” is a particularly infectious track, riding an unstoppable techno groove jazzed up with computer-game bells and whistles. Beyond their body-grabbing abilities, Veridia can offer reflections on empowerment and salvation with unexpected lyric subtlety. “Mechanical Planet” is the most Flyleaf-like track here, a dark commentary on materialism that doesn’t hesitate to confront the Enemy behind it all. Even more intriguing is “Mystery of the Invisible,” a capacious ballad that reaches out toward the unseen world with a pilgrim’s ecstatic rapture.
