Singer, actor and lyricist Gyrnam Bhullar has come a long way since winning the fifth season of talent show Awaz Punjab Di while he was still in middle school. He’s since pumped out a seemingly endless stream of film soundtrack tunes and solo singles—including 2018 smash hit “Diamond”—and matured gracefully along the way. Here, he teams up with producer Mrxci to craft an assortment of passionate Punjabi pop that consistently displays his vocal flexibility. The synth-heavy “Wrong Turn” is a highlight, as is the mix of Bhullar’s strong pipes with subtle background vox on “Identity”.
