It's unusual for a band's second album to be a live one, but Todd Rundgren's Utopia obviously had plenty of material to choose from. While Utopia's debut displayed Rundgren's passion for prog rock, this set shows that there were more strings to the band's bow. There are a few new tunes, including a few ("Another Life," "Seven Rays") on the complex, arty end of the spectrum, but there's also the soulful, acoustic-based "The Wheel," as well as covers of "Something's Coming" from West Side Story and The Move's "Do Ya." "Heavy Metal Kids" and "Just One Victory," from recent Todd solo albums, add hard rock and gospel touches, respectively.
