For his third solo outing, the Eagles frontman delves deeper into soul-pop, dance-y sides, and glossy ballads. Beyond the horn-drenched blue-collar anthem “Working Man” and the bouncy lover’s lament “Two Hearts,” the album is a mostly gentle, keyboard-heavy excursion into Frey’s adult life. He preaches healthy living (no more tequila sunrises!) on dance-floor jumper “Livin’ Right,” and tells how he’s an evolving human on the title track. The pop melodies are downright delirious on breakup song “Let’s Pretend We’re Still in Love” and the tender “I Did It for Your Love.”
