Unless

Crescendo’s second album could’ve been recorded inside a particle accelerator. Folding the ringing tones of dream pop into shoegaze's woozy drift, the quartet craft an enchanting blend of wildly blurry guitar strum and reverb-soaked vocals that sound as though they’re dissolving on the atomic level. “Repulsor” and “Yet” are indicative of the trio’s knack for effortlessly balancing cosmic ethereality and agitated rhythmic propulsion. Though they largely trade lead vocal duties, Gregory Cole and Olive Kimoto achieve a kind of sublime unity when they fall together on the blissfully bouncy “Tell.”
