Live! (Remastered)

This album contains concerts from two different periods in The Police's career, illustrating how much the trio changed over the course of just a few years. The first half is taken from a 1979 show when the band were just coming into their own. There's still ample evidence of their punky beginnings ("Next to You," "Fall Out") amid the trademark fusions of reggae and rock ("Roxanne," "The Bed's Too Big Without You"). The second half is from a pair of 1983 shows on the band's final tour. Both the songwriting and the sound had become more subtle and sophisticated, with art-pop hits like "King of Pain" and "Wrapped Around Your Finger" foreshadowing Sting's solo career.
