For Apple Music’s Home Session series, South African singer-songwriter Nomfundo Moh gives the earnest observations of life and personal growth she explores on her debut album Amagama an even more intimate feel. “Lockdown taught me that the sky is the limit,” she tells Apple Music of the time she spent crafting the album. “It made me improve on my work ethic; I had to make time for both music and academics, so I had to work twice as hard as I did before. I want to grow [even] further.” Here, alongside a cover of legendary South African singer-songwriter Brenda Fassie’s “Too Late for Mama,” Moh shares stripped-back versions of her album’s most notable singles. “Each song has its significance to me,” she explains. “‘Phakade Lami’ is symbolic of women empowerment, as I got to work with Sha Sha and Ami Faku [on the original track]. ‘Soft Life’ describes the life of contentment I wish to live—we all wish to live a better life one day.”
