Régulo Caro vs. Emilio Garra

Régulo Caro vs. Emilio Garra

Alter egos have long served artists across musical genres, helping to take their repertoires into interesting and exciting directions. In the grand tradition of Beyoncé’s Sasha Fierce, David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust, and Garth Brooks’ Chris Gaines comes Régulo Caro vs. Emilio Garra. While the latter has previously snuck his way onto the former’s projects, including 2020’s Todo Va A Estar Bien, this dichotomous album offers both canciones románticas and evocative corridos in relatively equal measure. Even beyond the fruits of this internal rivalry, creativity thrives in other ways. A number of tracks appear in radically different versions, including the standout “Conflicto de quererte,” which exists in both banda and mariachi styles. A curated handful of guests make things even more interesting, exemplified by his duets with Luis Angel “El Flaco,” Abraham Vazquez, and Tony Aguirre.
