Let Love Win

Let Love Win

The Museum’s debut album is firmly within the modern-worship mode of praise-filled lyrics set to melodic, radio-friendly pop/rock. More than many of their peers, the band roots its songs in scriptural language, taking inspiration from traditional hymns for its words and imagery. “You Are Love,” for instance, deftly combines jittery, spring-taut punk riffs with reverent expressions straight out of “Amazing Grace.” The yearning, minor key “Allelujah” and the folk-tinged “My Help Comes From the Lord” likewise combine an old-fashioned spirit of devotion with a 21st- century sonic sheen. Lead singer Ben Richter conveys both a rough rock edge with a hint of country sweetness in “Buy This” and “Radiance.” The glossy ‘80s- pop ambiance of “Lost In You” and the orchestral shadings of “The Anchor” stretch the Museum’s boundaries further. With production guidance from such Christian music stalwarts as Jason Ingram and Aaron Sprinkle, Let Love Win is consistently polished while retaining its visceral kick.
