No Label

No Label

No Label succeeds because the three performers in Migos operate as enthusiastic fans of rap rather than egomaniacal stars. They fuse all the best elements of recent Atlanta hip-hop (the unpredictable wordplay of Gucci Mane, the sputtering rhythms of Future, the athleticism of T.I.) and fuel it with youthful vim. Because its star power doesn’t rely on an individual, No Label exudes the merriment of a sudden party. It's at its best when the three comrades are shown scurrying atop the ominous and often tumultuous beats of “Flex,” “Bando,” and “Kush Cologne.”
