Already known in Spain as a movie star and sex symbol, Miguel Bosé brought all of his magnetic personality to this breakthrough album. "Amante Bandido" features that mile-high '80s drum sound and synthesized accordions, but it's Bosé's deep voice that commands the spotlight. On "Sevílla," the orchestration and half-spoken vocal evoke a Spanish romance. Adding intrigue are two English-lyric collaborations with UK prog-rock legend Peter Hammill. With its ominous choral vocals, "Domine Mundi" has the dark drama of Hammill's band Van der Graaf Generator.
