There’s not a dud in sight on Jason Nelson’s major-label debut. Every single song is righteously well-crafted, uplifting stuff. Where many praise and worship recordings fall flat when taken out of the context of church, Nelson’s meaty R&B arrangements and tremendous vocal chops add up to one of the finest gospel worship albums yet recorded. Of course, Nelson’s no newcomer; he has three previous indie albums under his belt, once played bass with Yolanda Adams, toured with Kirk Franklin, and penned music for Marvin Sapp. There’s a real clarity to his message. It's best exemplified here by the title track, a Top 10 single that's a call to practice the principles of worship in one’s daily life when encountering challenging situations. Nelson breaks it all down with restrained grace and a hearty, smooth melody.
