The Album Collection, Vol. 1 (1973-1984)

Bruce Springsteen’s first seven albums have never sounded this amazing before. Well, Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town were remastered to these heights when their anniversary editions were released, but never has The River sounded this complete. Acclaimed engineer Bob Ludwig and Springsteen’s longtime engineer Toby Scott remastered these albums from the original analog masters using the Plangent Process playback system; that removed the tape flutter to deliver the actual sounds made in the studio. The mixes remain the same, but the clarity of Greetings and Born in the U.S.A. makes this release a revelation.
