For da Love of da Game is an instantly likeable, inspirational joint about the plight of an up-and-coming artist, built on breezy guitar licks and butter smooth keys, with strong rhymes from Philly artists Pauly Yamz and Baby Blak, "Are U Ready?" features Slum Village (back when Dilla was still in the crew), and "Da Rebirth" rocks roughneck verses from Cy Young, over some extremely grimy high-hats and snares.
