Guitar hero Michael Schenker teams up with his former Scorpions bandmates Herman Rarebell and Francis Buchholz, his fellow MSG guitarist Wayne Findlay, and singer Doogie White for the follow-up to 2013’s excellent Bridge the Gap. Guitars and the original tapes were stolen, so this version of the album rocks with a vengeance that’s palpable. “Live and Let Live” and “Vigilante Man” demonstrate that hard rock bands in 2015 have a better shot than ever at getting their aggressive sound in the studio. Spirit on a Mission is classic Schenker.
