Publisher Description
Bernie Robertson has a recurring nightmare of being pursued by a killer through a snowy desert. This could be a response to the stress of divorcing an abusive husband, or her nightmare could be the repressed memory of an actual event. When Bernie's husband is arrested, and her apartment trashed, Bernie makes the decision to move to Texas and search for her birth mother. In Texas, she meets Mike West, and man she's attracted to, but one with a secret he is trying to hide. But Bernie's search for her birth mother plunges her into a terrifying situation where the event she is struggling to remember might be the thing that puts her and her toddler daughter in terrible jeopardy.
Marguerite Mooers is also the author of "Take My Hand" and "The Shelter of Darkness." Her books are available in paperback and Kindle format from Amazon.
"A damn fine writer," Aileen Vincent-Barwood, author 'A Murderous Thirst.'

Sad but amazing!
Bernie has a hard life. She just went through a divorce, and struggles to raise her young daughter alone. To top things off she is having nightmares that may be stress or maybe it's something else. She knows she is adopted and these terrible dreams she is having lead her to go on the search for her birth parents and hopefully the truth about her past. She moves to Texas and begins to find out the truth, but it also brings danger.
This book grabbed me from the beginning. I'm adopted and so I was able to relate to wanting to know about who you really are. This is something that Bernie struggles with throughout the book. She is trying to make a better life for her child and along the journey she finds a man to love that also loves her and her daughter, but she also has to come to terms with the life that came before and with this is a lot of danger.
This book had a bit of a slow start but the rest of the book makes up for that. This book told a very sad, but amazing story. It had mystery, romance, and action. I really enjoyed it....Stormi
